We are hiring a Business Manager to support the accounting, payroll, budgeting, HR, and internal systems that keep Patrician Company organized, compliant, and positioned for sustainable growth.

This role exists to bring structure, clarity, and follow-through to that system.

The Business Manager supports the operational core of Patrician Company—managing finance, HR, and internal systems so the CEO and team can focus on producing exceptional events.

the role

The Business Manager leads the internal operations of Patrician Company, overseeing accounting, payroll, budgeting, HR, insurance, and internal systems.
This role is essential to our ability to scale. You will ensure our financials are accurate, our budgets are managed with discipline, and our operations run smoothly and efficiently.

You will serve as the CEO’s operational partner, bringing structure, clarity, and accountability to the business so our team can focus on producing exceptional events.


WHAT YOU'LL OWN

  • Oversee day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable and accounts receivable
  • Complete monthly reconciliations and maintain accurate, clean financial records
  • Process payroll accurately and on time
  • Prepare and review monthly financial reports
  • Lead bi-monthly P&L reviews with the CEO to ensure budget discipline and financial clarity
  • Monitor operating budgets and flag risks or variances early


Financial Management & Accounting

  • Ensure HR policies, documentation, and compliance requirements are current and aligned with state and federal regulations
  • Support onboarding and offboarding processes
  • Maintain employee records and oversee compliance standards

Human Resources & Compliance

  • Maintain up-to-date company insurance policies
  • Collect and manage vendor certificates of insurance (COIs) for client events
  • Oversee vendor and independent contractor agreements
  • Ensure all required state and city business licenses are current


  • Support the production and execution of up to 24 events in 2026
  • Assist with timelines, run-of-show documents, production schedules, day-of installation, and post-event strike
  • Support on-site execution at client venues, including evenings and weekend


Insurance, Contracts & Licenses

  • Maintain and improve internal workflows and operating systems
  • Ensure files, financial records, and contracts are organized and easily accessible
  • Identify inefficiencies and implement improvements that increase clarity and scalability
  • Support documentation of processes to strengthen operational consistency

  • Identify immediate risks, gaps, or inefficiencies
  • Establish a clean monthly reconciliation rhythm
  • Ensure books are fully reconciled and current
  • Create clarity around the current operating budget and cash flow
  • Begin bi-monthly P&L review meetings with the CEO

  • Organize financial files, contracts, and internal documentation for easy access
  • Introduce at least 2–3 workflow improvements that increase efficiency or visibility

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of experience in bookkeeping, accounting, or financial operations
  • Advanced proficiency in QuickBooks Online
  • Strong working knowledge of Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Drive, Calendar)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel required)
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • Ability to read, analyze, and provide recommendations based on P&L statements and financial reports
  • Working understanding of insurance coverage, certificates of insurance (COIs), and basic risk management
  • Demonstrated experience building and improving operational systems
  • Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to maintain secure, well-structured financial and contract records
  • Ability to manage multiple deadlines with accuracy and attention to detail


Nice to Have:

  • Experience in events, hospitality, marketing, or a service-based business
  • Familiarity with vendor contracts and independent contractor agreements
  • Comfort using AI tools (ChatGPT, Claude, etc.) to improve workflow efficiency
  • Genuine interest in back-office operations and business infrastructure

You must be comfortable managing sensitive information, maintaining compliance, and ensuring the business operates within budget at all times.
