These were the once-in-a-century questions at the heart of planning Goodwill Orange County’s One Hundred Years of Working Wonders gala.
The client envisioned hosting this milestone event at their Orange County headquarters — the literal home of their mission. Unlike a hotel ballroom, the space carried deep meaning, as well as logistical complexity. With no existing infrastructure for a black-tie gala, we had to create a luxury venue experience from scratch.
We reimagined the Goodwill headquarters into a five-star event space worthy of its centennial.
Our team created a luxurious dining environment for 350 high-profile guests, incorporating every element — from catering and banquet amenities to lighting, staging, and décor — to deliver an unforgettable experience. At the center of it all: a custom-built stage where CEO Nicole Suydam could honor the legacy and cast a bold vision for the next century. The evening flowed into a celebratory after-party, to toast everything the team and community had accomplished.
The centennial gala became one of the most talked-about events of the year, receiving repeated coverage in regional media and elevating Goodwill OC’s profile in the community. Beyond the immediate success, the gala set up a powerful fundraising pipeline for the development team, laying the groundwork for donor engagement well into the following year.
